Prevention
Liluye is committed to elevate, educate, and empower women globally in safe, supportive communities. When we’re resilient and empowered, we’re less vulnerable to abuse and traffickers, and we’re able to thrive. We’re working to develop the most effective, trauma-informed prevention programs, addressing the root causes that promote the perpetuation of unhealthy patterns thereby creating and supporting more sustainable and peaceful environments and communities around the world.
The Liluye Short Prevention Program
This program created in October, 2022 is in English and Yoruba, and is 3.5 hours long. It incorporates ground rules, practical activities, definitions, facts, relevance in Nigeria, the grooming process, signs, methods of control, risk reduction/things to know, prevention resources and approaches, three types of prevention (primary, secondary and tertiary), and follow-up questions for discussion.
It was developed by our Global Advisor and Programs Manager, Yvonne Sharp (MHR), for our WIDC partner in Ile Ife, Osun state, Nigeria. It has been used on several occasions to sensitize people in the surrounding communities on the threats of trafficking there.
If you would like to partner with Liluye to gain access to the Liluye Short Prevention Program or to collaborate with us to create your own, customized organization’s program, email us at info@liluye.org and we will get back to you to discuss these options.
The Resilient, Empowered Self and Community Series
This series was hosted and created by Jill Langhus-Griffin (founder of Liluye), Dr. Stephanie Little Hawk-Big Crow (global indigenous affairs expert), and Emma Lees (director of coaching). The program series focuses on developing resilient and empowered women in a safe, supportive community.
Our goal is to elevate, educate, and empower women, globally; to help make them less vulnerable to abuse and traffickers, and be able to thrive.
