~ WHAT WE DO ~

Liluye, a non-governmental, non-profit organization, is dedicated to building strong collaborative partnerships to eradicate human trafficking and combat its global effects.

Our ultimate goal is to help create a slave-free world where women and girls become personally and economically empowered. Liluye provides training, resources, and support that enable survivors to pursue meaningful personal and professional opportunities, thereby fostering greater economic empowerment and creating a ripple effect of more sustainable communities. As a result, we’re reducing the vulnerability of women and girls to being retrafficked by helping them to thrive.

To address trafficking and its global effects, we focus on prevention, economic empowerment, and direct service aftercare programs and resources. We build supportive, uplifting, and healing spaces for women who are connected by harrowing life experiences. Led and informed by survivors, we advocate and empower women and girls. Through our partners, we provide PTSD trauma healing resources, counseling, connections, and training that provide survivors with safe places to work, viable trades, living wages, and agency training.

Our approach is deeply rooted in trauma-informed, survivor-centered, and community-driven principles. We are committed to serving those who are highly (and most) marginalized and targeted by traffickers.

We strongly believe in the power of collaborative efforts to create the most impact and holistic world. Together, we’re creating a better and safer world where all girls and women are safe, empowered, healed, and heard.

~ WHERE WE WORK ~

We collaborate with 51 like-minded organizations across 19 countries to elicit collective impact for women and girls to empower and sustain our people and planet. Through The Thrive Tribe (TTT) aftercare program we directly supported survivors from Nigeria, Cameroon, Canada, and our home office is in Tucson, Arizona (USA).

~ OUR IMPACT ~

Prevention
Seven partner organizations based in Africa currently have access to our short prevention program, which was created in partnership with, Women Inspiration Development Center (WIDC) in Ile Ife, Osun state, Nigeria.

We are in the process of creating a full-day curriculum for rural communities to build awareness and prevent trafficking through a trauma-informed program.

Economic Empowerment

Last year, we hosted our first skills-based financial literacy program. The program focused on short and long-term skills to support financial independence, including how to open a bank account, tax calculations, investments, personal financing, and insurance coverage.

In addition to financial literacy programs, Liluye plans to organize art healing workshops and other programs to promote and advance financial independence. Art healing workshops will provide survivors an opportunity to make and sell artwork online, as well as develop marketable skills.

Aftercare
The Thrive Tribe (or TTT) aftercare program which is a pioneering series of interactive modules and personalized coaching and mentoring sessions. TTT equips survivors of sex trafficking with the necessary skills, knowledge, and environment to rebuild their lives and thrive beyond their past experiences.

In the 2023-2024 program year of The Thrive Tribe (TTT), ten trafficking survivors have benefited in Cameroon, Canada, Nigeria, and the United States. By the program’s midpoint, 70% of participants had taken concrete steps toward new career paths or higher education, and 80% reported increased self-confidence and emotional resilience. Plus, 80% of participants indicated that they had built connections and learned best practices that strengthened their ability to develop their own projects.
